It all feels a bit like sixes & sevens round here...whatever that means. I seem to be having a bit of a crafty drought, starting lots of projects but not really seeing them through...lots of things on needles, piles of cut out fabric and a bag of matchboxes (don't ask) my head hasn't been in the game. I guess its because I have been spending so much time outside lapping up the wonderful weather getting the space sorted before autumn and the chill of winter show their faces and to be frank I just feel like collapsing into a chair in the evenings.
There is of course the other thing or three things along with various critters that factor into this situation...the summer holidays and total lack of any quiet times in the day or evening. It seems that I get really very grumpy (much grumpier than usual) after 6 weeks of constant noise and as much as I am sad that the holidays are nearly done inside I am sighing a huge huff of relief.
The house feels like a complete disaster zone and there is dust & mess in every corner, I feel dishevelled as I walk from room to room but know that the task of anything more than skimming the surface is pointless as the second I turn around it will be full of crappity crap once again.
My first few weeks will be full and spent getting back into the routines of the school run and having a whole day to work as my precious girl goes off to big school for the first time....she can't wait and asks every morning 'is it today' as she stares hopefully at her shiny black school shoes. I am relieved that she is soooo excited as I know for some children it can be a huge frightening step.
So I have plans and will welcome Mr Craft back with open arms, make him a cuppa & bake a few sticky treats and hand him over this list to get stuck into....
- new wardrobe for Violet....carefree clothes for girls is looking a likely suspect
- finish book projects...write, write and a bit more writing
- a few cheeky autumn dresses for me
- finish the darn cardigan
- add a few more square to the scrappy blanket...even though it was announced a finished project it indeed need a little more
- clean the house from top to bottom, in a proper move everything kind of way
- violets birthday doll
- paint the pantry before it gets far to chilly to enter without adorning full arctic gear
I am sure the list will grow and Mr Craft will have a few of his own to tag on....I hope that you my dear readers have had a little bit more success this summer and if not enjoyed every single sunny moment we have been blessed with this year.
ta raa for now rx
