A MOST LOVELY CROCHET FLORAL
By gum I am smitten....While pondering my next crochet project after announcing my Scrappy Blanket finished due to my usual loss of interest in something that takes too long (although it has made a significant hole in my leftover yarn), I stumbled across the african hexi flower and isn't it just beautiful.
After receiving a most lovely email from Lisa who had included a wee link to her new blog I popped over to have a look and gasped as I set eyes upon the most lovely blanket she had made (with quite possibly the loveliest colours I had ever seen) and a link to this fantastic tutorial which obviously I had to try out straight away. Violet had announced with her looming first day at school that she would quite like a new scarf to wear....perfect I thought and excuse to give it a go.
As you can see Violet has taken it upon herself to 'train' Stanley who I am afraid has never really been one for leads.....he likes to take himself off for a jolly across the fell. Not too sure whether being dragged round the garden with a Barbara Woodhouse stare and a grubby child at the other end of the lead was quite what he had in mind for today.
For those of you wondering it looks a bit complicated please give it a go I really do think if you can do a granny square then you can indeed get to grips with an african flower....and think of the possibilities.
Its been a fab week, we had a last minute visit from my sister & her kiddos. A couple of days out and very little arguing, games, swimming and all sorts of fun, which to be honest I really needed.
I finally finished my last orders for frocks which was pleasing but a little sad too and thank you so much for all the lovely ladies who ordered a frock or two and I hope your granny soul shines while wearing them.
School starts soon and my precious girl will start full time....she is very excited and there has been lots of practicing, numbers, letters and scribbling on things that shouldn't be scribbled on. It will be great to have those extra hours in the day but I also feel I am losing my small stitching helper who did a mean job at cleaning my overlocker....
Hope you all have a fab Bank Holiday weekend and lets hope the rain doesn't pour down too hard....
